Happy new year 2011!
I had this song ringing in my head throughout the 2 weeks of medical leave. Just as I did all that I can humanly, it was a reminder to me to always keep my eyes on Jesus when I am down.
The 2nd week of my leave was terribly filled with pain. I started having bad headaches and neck pulling sensation on my right side on Tuesday. I had blood in stools. I had diarrhea. I ignored the blood in stools, thinking that it was just simply bleeding after the D&C op. I also ignored diarrhea as gynae did prescribe me one dosage of laxative. I just could not ignore the headaches.
When it started, I thought I was having tension headaches. Yet, I wondered - What was I tense about? I wasn't working. Neither am I mulling and crying excessively. Pain got worse on Thursday so I went to see the GP. Medication did not work. Sleeping pill did not work as the pain was greater than the pill. On Friday, thankfully Geo was on leave, I thought that I better run to the hospital to do a scan. Made my way to the bathroom to wash up and bathe.
As I was bathing, (toilets are truly a wonderful place to think!), I felt a prompting from the HS to check with the gynae for side effects of the medication. I got so excited, I bathed quickly and called the gynae. True enough, gynae asked me to stop one medication. I got curious and I went to search the internet for more details. I was appalled to see that I was actually suffering from quite a bit of the side effects.
So, I stopped one med, continued the other med. However, pain still persisted. Next day, called again and then was informed that the 2nd med also had similar side effects. Sigh... I literally let out a sigh when I was on the phone with the nurse.
Anyway, with the whole of Sat without the medication and lots of water to flush it out, Sunday, the pulling pain in the head was still around. To top it off, I develop sores at my tonsil area. So, I decided to seek 2nd opinion and I went to KKH's women's clinic.
It was an interesting finding at KKH. Firstly, my 5-6 sores in the tonsils is not considered bad. (I think if it's whole entire mouth, then it's bad!) Secondly, doc asked me if I take antibiotics before. I told her that I usually reject antibiotics and do not consume unless absolutely necessary like a bad infection. She then said that it's my body's way of reacting to too much antibiotics in my body suddenly. Said also that the medicine given to me was to prevent infection after the D&C. Usually, one week suffice. So, she was also shocked that I was given 2 weeks.
Anyway, looking back, it still has been a good 2 weeks away from work despite the emotional upheaval and physical pain. Through it all, I am thankful for many things.
As I start today with breakfast with Geo today, it dawned upon me that it's during the physical pain that I look to God more. Yes, I prayed when I am emotionally down yet I know that I sought God more during the physical pain. Perhaps, it's only human or it was easier to allow oneself to wallow in sadness? As I look back, I learn to give thanks for the headache (despite it's pain) because that helped me to fix my eyes on Him more.
I know I couldn't have pulled through without God. But, I also know that I wouldn't have pulled through without the companionship of a supportive husband, family and friends. Last week, I had a good problem. I had to arrange all my nights well so that my friends could visit me. I was initially feeling rather dull to meet anyone but I was reminded that these are friends who really stood by me when I am down.
So..... As I began my day today, God placed a word in my heart - Commit. Commit to God my plans. Commit to God my day. Commit to God the promises I said. Commit to God myself. And so.... Today, is the beginning of 2011 for me. I am finally feeling that it's the new year.

It's ok, I am here.
2 days went by and by 26th night, I was worried sick. I made an emergency call to my gynae and she wasn't around in Singapore. Diverted to another her replacement gynae and was so comforted by her voice. She got me to drink something hot and sweet like Milo and also to make an appointment at her clinic the next day. She also advised me to rest really well.
Rest. Rest was probably the one thing I did not have at all. I lay on my bed wide awake, tossing and turning, wondering when will night turn to day. 8 hours seemed like forever. I was so extremely tired. I tossed & turned & tossed & turn. Finally, I made a trip to the toilet and when brown turned red, I knew that it was a miscarriage. Cried my heart out together with Geo, cried till I got myself to sleep... with a request to Geo to turn on some music.
When the clock strike 9:30am, I immediately called the clinic and made the earliest appointment. I was once again comforted by the soothing and very concerned voice of the nurse who picked up my call.
Skipping the details, gynae broke the unfortunate news and sent me to NUH for a second opinion. NUH confirmed the gynae's diagnosis and sent me back to the gynae for my next step of action. At the gynae, I was advised to go through the D&C (aka the Wash which I found out later it's called Dilation & Curettage). For the 2nd time in my life, I went through a general anesthesia. The next thing I knew, Geo was downstairs to pick me up in a cab. I just slept right through the next few hours.
Emotions. I guess like to any other women who have gone through this, the baby is as real as it gets though it's only probably about 6 weeks. It is so real that during the 6 weeks, Geo & I talked about his or her name. We talked about where to put the cot. We talk about what should we do as parents.
It was painful. As much as I know that nothing can be done to stop it, as much as I understand the scientific or logical reasoning that the gynae had shared, it doesn't stop me from feeling the pain of the loss of a child. As I sat at the gynae's the day the news was given to me, I looked around and there sat women who were heavily pregnant or they came out of the gynae's office smiling from ear to ear. And there was I, grumpy, forlorn, saddened.
So many questions ran through my mind. Recovery was quick, I would say. Thankfully, I had booked a 3D2N hotel stay in Singapore to celebrate Geo's birthday. That hotel stay became a timely place for us to just rest and spend time together alone. As if it was all divinely plan, we had initially already set the 2nd day at the hotel to be a spiritual retreat.
Spent about half the day just reading & worshiping God. To be honest, there were no answers as to why the miscarriage took place. There isn't even a specific scientific and logical answer to the miscarriage from the doctor. However, the one thing that I took back from the retreat was that God knows my pain, our pain, our loss. I was comforted by the reminder of the famous Footprints and in that picture, I saw that Jesus was not carrying just one of us on his back. He was carrying both Geo and myself, one on His right and one on His left.
I believe that questions will definitely still continue to ring in my mind. I believe that sadness will linger around a little while longer. However, I am comforted and will take heart that "It's ok.. I am here", says the Lord.

Faith
I remember in 2006, I made my way to Zambia with no money & no approval from parents, I bought air tickets by faith. Money came. Approval came. I went & returned, feeling refreshed.
However, as I look back now, I realized that that level of faith & that amount of prayers is nothing compared to my prayers now.
After being tested positive for a bb, I realized that I have embarked on a journey of faith. It's kinda funny to know that there's a little cell within me yet I can't feel it. I have to trust that 2 test kits.
As I stepped into the gynae's room today, I was filled with excitement. When Dr Lim urged me to the ultrasound machine, she commented "If bb's 6-7 weeks, we might even be able to see the bb.". Each step to the machine felt so exciting. However, when U/S was not able to see the bb, my heart kind of sank for a moment.
As quickly as it sank, I was again encouraged by this soft whisper that the Lord's eyes is upon me, have faith. Faith moves mountains. Faith is the anchor that holds my heart.
And so, the journey of faith continues.. :D

A journey of faith begins II...
Yesh... Am determined to find time, and write down this whole process of knowing that San and me will become parents by this time next year. It is such a GREAT blessing that I want to remember how God is in this whole deal.
On 4th Dec (Sat), we attended a Marriage Enrichment Conference organized by our church. There were pocket of times during the conference when San took out her diary and calculated the days of her menses. After that, she told me, "It has been 42 days and my menses is still not here, hmm... Maybe wait until 60 days before I do the pregnancy test"? She asked... I kind of agreed relunctantly there and then... BUT, there was this tugging in my heart... I believe it is God's voice whispering and telling me,"Why must it be 60 days before San take the preganancy test"?... However I brush the matter aside and continue to concentrate on the conference teaching.
During break time, we mingled with other couples who attended the conference. There was this brother whom we chatted with and he popped this question, "Are we planning for a child"? It was a genuine question, and my answer to him is, "Trying"... But if I may verbalise my thought process then, it probably goes 'If God give us a child, praise God... If not, never mind'... When I 'heard' myself, I was suddenly reminded that San and me are praying for a child. It wasn't just this brother alone. Friends and colleagues around also asked this question, but my answer to them is also the same. God somehow reminded me that when we pray, we got to believe that He will answer. I was kind of ashamed for my own disbelief.
Soon, I turned to San and told her, "Let's just go and buy the test kit and test it out tonight... I will pay"... HAHAaaa... I said that partly because we actually have one test kit at home in Ang Mo Kio. However, we are heading towards Simei after the conference, and staying over too. We can easily wait till the next day before San do the test. BUT, I really wanted to apply faith after this 2 encounters during the conference. Indeed, when we pray and commit the matter to God, we got to act with faith and trust.
Yesh!!!... San is expecting!!!... God answered our prayer... There is this sense of awe, to know that God is 'fearfully and wonderfully making His child' in San's womb. Indeed, a human being is an incredible thing. Far too complex and intricate to have come into being without the guiding hand of a Creator. Amen!!!... :)

A journey of faith begins...
There's this deep joy that's overflowing within me. I have received all sorts of blessings from God, in all various forms. Financial, emotional, physical, handphones, PDAs, etc. You name it, I have it.
However, the blessing of knowing that I am carrying a child is beyond words. In all honesty, the last few months were mixed with fear & disappointments. It has almost been a teenage-hood worry to me that I would have great difficulties bearing a child. Where I got these fears - don't ask me. I even was prepared that I even might be adopting.
It seemed almost surreal, almost totally unreal. How could this be happening to me? Wow! A life is within me! Is it for real? God, you sure? God, wow! You are so kind to me! God, you are so nice to me. I am filled with astonishment, excitement, surreal-ness. Each moment, I would be thinking of the little one within me. Each movement I made is made with care.
Just two days ago, I had a little doubt. As I was waiting for my monthly period to arrive, I was tempted to opine "Oh, it's been days and I am tired of waiting for my period to come!" Yet, there was this still small voice beside me whispering - San, I thought you were praying for a child? Where is that faith?
I kept this thought within me and unknowingly, Geo also had his thoughts - which he will blog if he has found the time. Hee.. When we put it together and discussed about it, we decided that we would go and buy the test kit. Honestly, I was reluctant to test, worried that I would be disappointed. Yet, there was this strong feeling pushing me to have faith & trust.
God is good - in good times AND bad times! I am reminded that we have only tried for a child for a mere 8 months. There are couples who have tried 8 years and are still trying. I am only reminded to not take this blessing for granted but in everything I do, to continue to seek God's face, to seek His love, to seek his presence in my life. I am reminded that I am not to gloat. I am reminded to break the news with care.
For now, I have been advised to sleep well, eat normal & pray! =) God, I am ready for the 40 weeks of faith.. May You take over my life & take control of everything.

Getting to know you
It was just beginning of this year that I made a vow to a man - Till death do us part. My life has not been the same since then. Marriage has probably brought the worst and the best out of me.
Living with my in laws was never a difficult thing to do. My greatest adjustment was probably the toilet, having no space to wash my clothes and hang it up. Kitchen habits were very different as well. Thankfully, I do not inspire to be a chef so I steer clear of the kitchen.
I very much appreciate Geo for his patience and often very slow to anger. I ask him ever now and then if I will ever one day see his anger towards me. Shamefully, in these past 10 months, he has definitely experienced my wrath more than me his.
With two different ministries and workload, having time together was quite a feat. Yet, the sweetness of the marriage was when we both try to squeeze time or do something spontaneously. I believe that difficult moments are opportunities when our marriage see growth. Beautiful moments are to help us tide through difficult times.
As we are planning for a kiddo now, we are careful of the pitfalls that may come along the way when a child comes. For one, we might be too tired to spend time with God when a child comes. Or we may lose that intimate moments with one another. Knowledge is so that we can have a better idea of what is to come. Ultimately, the best gift any parent could give their child is really for the parents to love one another. To model to the child what love is. To provide the safety attachment for the child. To allow the child, to be a child.
Yes, I am still gonna sing - Getting to know you, getting to know all about you! Marriage is an everlasting vow that one makes to get to know all about his/her partner. Not only that, their family too. It's a process that I am totally enjoying.

Accommodating and Compromising
To be fair, in the entire month, I only had 2 weeks of the real-world, being away for honeymoon for the first 2 weeks. Going away for honeymoon immediately was pretty helpful we felt. It helped us adjust to living together as a couple first (before I started staying with Geo's parents). It gave us ample time to talk about some standards and values we share. Although it was a little surreal (living in hotel and away from homeland), it was a pretty fruitful experience.
In the 2 weeks, I found that my in-laws love language is Acts of Service. They love by serving. They hardly talk, although I found a few good occasion to chat. Last week while cooking together with my father in law, I spoke of preserved beancurd (tao-lu) and how much I love it with porridge and how much I love porridge. Next day, my mother in law, in her silent ways, cooked porridge for me. My parents in law wakes up very early daily and will prepare breakfast.
I constant remind myself that as much as I have to adjust to living with my husband and in-laws, I cannot cannot forget that my in-laws are also adjusting to living with me. Compromising and accommodating is something so crucial. Now, I eat more healthily because of a value my other half and his parents hold - breakfast every morning. Usually, I don't have my breakfast (because I always wake up just in time for a bath and off to work I go). Now, I learn to wake up earlier because my PIL has already prepared breakfast for us.
I thank God for in-laws who allow me into their lives (to cook, to do household chores, to enter their room) yet still respect my private space whenever I need to.
Living with Geo has been amazing. He has such great capacity to tolerate and accommodate to my nonsense. Between us, I am the more picky one. Our differences can be quite vast when it comes to living, honestly. He is the can-live-with-things & careless type of guy. I am the need-things-to-be-in-their-proper-place & prim-and-proper type of girl. I need things to be organized. It may be messy but I still need organization. Last week, we had a short cold war triggered by a missing bedsheet (laugh! but yes, missing bedsheet!). Prior to that, there were little occurrences of misplacement. Finally the missing bedsheet blew me off and I decided not to talk. After 30 mins (or so), I decided to talk things out. Thankfully, Geo's a very good listener and very open to accommodating and learning my way of living so we had a good talk.
Well, this is but just one month. I am enjoying every minute of it. Let's see how things go when work starts for me next Monday. :)

Wedding
Wedding was on 30 January. Today's already the 18 February and to be honest, I am still on Cloud Nine, overwhelmed by all the blessings Geo & I had received and is still receiving.
Praise God for his healing powers! Two days before the wedding, I was so sick in my nose. I kept sneezing and it really got worse just the night before the wedding! I couldn't get to sleep either. It was such a tough night. By the time I caught a proper sleep, it was already about 5am. Thank God there is no tradition that says I have to leave before the sunrise so I was able to get at least 2 hours of sleep. Make up artist came at 7:05am. I woke up at 6:55am. Hee... :) I downed a glass of hot water, had Milo and biscuit, 2 Panadols, prayed for and I was absolutely cleared from all sneezing till the entire day was over!
Praise God for the more-than-perfect weather. It was not THAT hot. Neither did it rain! Geo & I were very worried about the day being scorching. We got Ramesh (the person in charge of The Bark Cafe) to blast all fans. We were so worried that we decided to get a tentage. And yes, whilst I am on the topic of tentage, we were also blessed with great discount!
Praise God for all who turned up and didn't turn up. The blessings and wishes we received were heartfelt. You know, I was in awe at the monetary blessings we received that I felt tears welling in my eyes. It was incredible and amazing.
Thank God for all who has a hand in helping out with the wedding. When I approached them for help, they volunteered their own kids too! I was so touched when the parents went shopping for Orange color clothing for their kids too! I know I know... They told me "It's ok! Can always wear for Chinese New Year la..." But... it's not just ok.. The effort put in, amidst of their busy schedule, to look all over for a color that wasn't the IN color was amazing. Thanks! Not forgetting my sisters too... I got 3 last minute sisters who went all the way out to search for Orange dresses... Thanks my dear girls. You girls are wonderful and such a blessing to have.
Thank God for my immediate and extended family. Your presence had brightened up my day. You are the people whom I had grown up with. People who has seen the better and worst side of me. Seen me when I was naked with diapers. Seen me when I was defiant and ran away. Thank you all for loving me the way I am and nurturing me to be who I am now.
Thank God for warm in-laws and extended in-laws. Even before I was married, they had treated me as if I was one of them. Parents, aunts, uncles all alike. Thank you for your acceptance & embrace.
Back to the wedding day, other than the weather, I was surprised that I wasn't at all nervous. It really does help by not inviting everybody on my phone's list. Everyone whom I invited were friends, colleagues and buddys who were close to me. So instead of feeling nervous, I was having a GREAT time! My pastor commented that they rarely see bride walking around before the walk in. In my perspective, I just wanna have fun and mingle. I am ready to break all traditions. The only down side of me walking around was my tired feet at the end of the day. I was so used to wearing flats. My heels that day was 4 inch high! Gosh! I suddenly felt taller - and more tired!
The next day, Geo & I went for our church service with swollen eyes. Hee.. Tired la.. Following day, we made our way for our honeymoon to Langkawi and Penang. I will blog about our honeymoon trip next time.

Boutonnière
In the past few weddings which I helped/attended, the most hated thing about the boutonnière is that it doesn't seem to stay pinned-on to the jacket/shirt. In fact, I get most irritated ensuring that it stays on the whole ceremony.
Therefore, I gave it a bit of thought for the boutonnière for Geo's brothers. Of course, I wanted something unique, again. I also wanted it light. Initially, Geo and I thought that maybe no need boutonnière, just an orange tie for all. Then again, (the stingy me) ties are not cheap. We also do not wish to give just a cheap orange tie. Practically speaking, I do wonder, really wonder, who will wear the orange tie again.
Anyway, long story cut short, I decided on this - Peacock boutonnière. Hee! I think the color orange suits the feather! Now, I am wondering - would the brothers wear?????????????

Wedding invitation
Yes he does. Of course, we split our roles very clearly. I take care of matters that deals with any craft work. He take care of the music. Nonetheless, I can't be doing 200+ craft work alone and Geo's always a darling in helping me out. (Well, it beats seeing my black face! Hahaha!)
Eh... I was SOOOoooooOOoo satisfied with the invite that I just stared at it for awhile and asked "How come I have never received a DIY wedding invite before?" Hmmm.... But I have to thank God for my friend who supplied me a printer else I wouldn't have the capacity to DIY!
Steps:
1. Photoshop to design
2. Print it to black (cheaper) on a white 120gms paper
3. Add a strong color backing (in our case - Orange) 200gms.
Ta-da!
Total cost: $69.00 for 200 pieces (envelopes inclusive), $0.345 per piece. Hmm.. Quite ok!
19 October 2009
We were the 'lucky' one as compared to the other couple. They had to arrive at 8am for their make up. Ours were slotted at 10am, the time we start work! We had sufficient rest and even had time for cake and coffee.... :) My dogs were SO excited. They seemed to know that they were scheduled to be our 'props' too! Like I mentioned in my previous entry, I absolutely love my make up artist, although towards the end, I am lack of energy to heeheeheehahaha with her. My eyelids also felt so heavy that I feel like sleeping!

Personally, I really love this look. Short veils are so sharp and simple. I can't imagine something long and girly. That's the other thing I am bowled by the skills of Vivi. She did 5 different hairstyles on my short hair! Man! Alone, I can only have one type - Messy! :P

Of outdoor shoot and props
That's the thing - I find things to do! I love doing things! I enjoy DIY. I think it gives any wedding a different feel. I think it gives ME a different feel. I feel that I have something to look forward to. It gives me a 'project' feel. (Somewhere in my main blog, I had an entry on my love for projects)
Well, with the upcoming photoshoot, I thought it would be lovely to have some props. Props, to me, is so necessary because I don't think I can think of so many poses without anything on hand.
For our first destination at Dover Road, we brought marbles. I remember when I was very young, I will always play marbles with the boys at the playground. I love it when I win the marbles. Hee!
Geo is a musician so a musical instrument is a must. I had literally suggested bringing a keyboard but I must have been crazy! So of course, the easiest method is to bring a guitar. Hahaha!! The photographer told Geo to 对牛谈情. I fumed and asked him if I am a COW!! :P We decided to use the guitar at the railway track.
Anyway, our last stop was at Upper Seletar Reservoir. I have had wanted ONE huge ROUND ROUND (as round as a circle) balloon. However, getting that one balloon is a headache. Should I get it the day before? But if it's a day before, then would the helium last till the next evening? And if I want to get it on the day itself, would I have the time? I also do not wish to over-tire my friend who drove me around that day.
So, heehee..., I decided to get some ideas from nature around me and searched the internet on how to make pinwheels! As I was doing, I decide to photograph the process.
1. Have 2 square pieces of paper and glue them together (alternatively, can get double-sided paper). Better the paper be thick about 160gms.2. Get a rod (I got mine from Spotlight), some wire about 20 cm and a round bead. Wind the wire around one end of the rod. At the end of it, add the round bead.
3. Draw diagonal lines across the paper. From the center, measure 3cm on all 4 sides. Punch (with a needle) a hole in the center. 4. Punch a hole at the corner on the side of the right corner of each 'triangle'. (Don't punch so many like mine. It was a mistake!)
5. Start with one corner and bend the paper over so that the wire can be inserted into the punched hole. Do it for all 4 corners. Add a round bead and use a pliers to bend the remaining wire to secure it.

Trial make up and site survey
Anyway, I signed on with Labelle Couture about 3 months ago. Chose 4 gowns + 1 裙褂 (Chinese Kua) + 1 outdoor gown. After choosing, it was just whiling time away with other wedding preparation stuffs until about a week before the photoshoot, I had my final gown fitting and a trial make up.

Right from the start, boss of Labelle had told us that we can go for 4 places for the outdoor shoot but Geo and I were also concern whether we had sufficient time. The usual complaint from friends is the lack of time. As we hear, we also got concerned over the sufficiency of time. With that, we thought 'aiya... just keep it nearby and settle for Sentosa.' Geo did also mentioned that we had spend quite quality time at Sentosa during our courtship.
We sort of settled for just 1 place and during the gown fitting & trial make up, we were 'reprimanded' by boss over and over again that Sentosa's a boring place and told us DEFINITELY, we can go to 4 places.
Hahaha!! That was enough for us to feel confident to really throw ideas. We didn't exactly come up with a particular theme but we love old school stuffs. I remember then that right from the beginning, we had wanted to have railway track as one site. So we kept to this thought and look out for other old school rustic feel places. That day, after the trial make up, we decided to go site surveying.

We also decided on the old-school playground at Blk 35 Dover Rd.

Final destination is Upper Seletar Reservoir. I brought 2 of my kids here to before & I was quite captured by what I saw. At the same time, boss also showed me pics of another couple who went there to capture sunset. It was very very nice.

By the time I am blogging this, our photoshoot was over (yesterday). My advice: (1) Do a good site survey. Keep places as close together as possible so that you won't get too tired out. (Driver also won't get too tired) (2) Pray! Good weather, good photographer, good make up artist, etc. It's all VERY important because it's what keeps you sane the entire day!
Another day, I will blog on the props we brought along. :P
Wedding favor II
Why get married ah?

I had a conversation with a friend while I was driving and we started talking about our lives. I, am one who is about to get married. She, on the other hand had her marriage nearly on the brink of divorce but it's working out very well now - thank God, thank friends around, thanks to their willingness to work things out also.
We both came to a common topic - Why should one get married? We can always live alone. God has made us whole and complete. So why should we get married? She shared that sometimes, she wonders why she had to go through the 'pain' of marriage'. In a marriage, there are so so so many things to work on - differences in perspectives & principles, adjustment, getting bored of each other, arguments and the list can really go on and on and on. After all the sighing, she shared that as much as she doesn't need a husband, her children need a father. Many have said that the best gift for a man to give his children is to love their mother. Likewise, it is also vice versa - the best gift for a woman to give her children is to love their father.
As we conversed further, we felt strongly that love as a feeling will fade and when challenges come along the way, the marriage will be tested. Thus, very often, people end up feeling that marriage is a huge commitment.
So, back to the question - Since God has already made us whole and complete, why do we need a lifetime partner? Our answer during the conversation - No right or wrong - is that when we are single, we are not committed to someone per se. We live according to our own schedule, our own needs, wants. Basically, comfort zone. When a lifetime partner comes along the way, we feel loved, we want to stay in the relationship but by doing that, our comfort zone can get shaken cause we no longer live according to our own schedule. Yupz, scary and tiring as it may sound, when comfort zone is shaken, there is opportunity for growth. So, ultimately, as a couple, we are covenanted in commitment to each other to help one another grow in the Lord and grow as a person.
I am not married yet. But I am learning already. Kudos to all married couples!

Splurge
However, I cannot help it but search Etsy for bird's nest ring pillow. I found this at the most reasonable price. It's really a splurge, a luxury. A ring pillow is something that we do not need to purchase (cause a free ring pillow comes with our wedding bands). I thought about it a few days before I place order. My only consolation is that shipping is free! Haa! I got the creator to send it to my friend who was working in US. I recently just collected back from him.

Wedding Favor
Honestly, I have had wanted so much to do personalized wedding favors but the guests list seemed to be increasing every other week (headache is in how to decrease it!). I cannot imagine myself working on the gift till the last week into the wedding. Haa! By then, I wanna rest and relax.
Nonetheless! My itchy fingers wants to do something for the favors. Geo & I narrowed down to getting Chuppa Chups! (Everyone has a child in us right???) Then, I searched Martha Steward DIY Weddings and found this wonderful Lollipop Stand. However, I felt a little lazy searching around for a flat washer so I decided to hot-glue a wooden base.
I was very satisfied when I completed it. Hee! I think the little children will love it... Perhaps after the wedding, some kid can bring it home (& bug their daddies and mummies for lollipops!!!) Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!)

Rings!
Without question, Geo & I wanted two identical rings in full Rose Gold (this is my personal love! Rose Gold!) and no diamonds (don't quite enjoy seeing a diamond on Geo). When we went through tens of rings, we love this simple fun rings where it has the mechanism to open up the ring.

After that, Geo was a tad concern if the rings weighed too heavily on his fourth finger because it may affect his playing. After his practice, he has a fan who "worships" him! A white fan. :P
Anyway, conclusion - The ring REALLY does add weight to his playing. It kinda seemed like an obstruction to certain methods of playing too.
What I said in response? "Just too bad! You better don't let me see you take that ring off your finger!"

古惑仔
Last night’s MSN conversation with Geo was hilarious! Come to think about it, the whole laughing matter started while he was choosing his suit.
This guy!!!! This guy asked if he can do without a tie or a bow tie or this cloth thing around neck called the ‘clovet’ (I only managed to get to hear the word from Almond). Almond told him that when he come and get me, must be more serious so a tie ought to be a necessity.
So this guy tried all means to go a little more casual. He aimed the evening suit. He chose one that is denim-like, looked a little casual (but very nice lines actually). He was SO ecstatic that he could tuck out, no neck stuffs, no buttoning of the jacket! I nearly slapped him for wanting to tuck out his shirt. Hahahaha!!!! But I was gentle… (like real) and told him “Can… if you want to wear berms, T-shirt, flip flops also can! If you don’t want to wear anything, also can la… Can one can one.. No problem…”. So we settled for the denim-like suit, unbuttoned jacket & no neck stuff. He was SO happy…
That was the afternoon at the bridal studio. This is our conversation at night!
